Nowadays in this age of kali yuga, we find so many gurus, so many different paths and schools of thought, and would refer to most of them as bogi yogis, because they have no parampara and their knowledge is based on their own mental speculation, so with this in mind it is not to find a guru that is most important, it is to find a BONA-FIDE Guru who is teaching the Absolute Truth AS IT IS with out his own mental speculation in other words AS IT IS not HOW I WANT IT mentallity...

sorry sir but i dont have any special respect the bona-fide gurus of kali-yug, i chose my guru after verifying that he was free from greed and selfish tendency, who practices charity and who has numerous wonderful talents and powers which are living testimonies of his soul's purity and worthiness.

i seen lots of bona-fide gurus drinking alcohol and eating meat behind covers. Guru should be one whom you can CLEARLY see standing under the showers of God's love n mercy.

that is why i specified BONA FIDE in capitals and even bolded it, because that is the only ful qualification, giving in charity for a guru or any vaisnava is not a qualification of guru, guru should know krishna, because it is by the grace of krishna one gets guru and by guru one gets krishna...

a guru has to be in the line of disciplic succession and traits and ways of living does not make one a guru, its like a man that has the attitude of a doctor thinks he can heal people and is clean and dresses up like one and accepts patients, but if he does not have the knowledge, the correct knowledge AS IT IS, can he cure any one?

Thats why you need proper education through guru, sadhu sastra and a bonafide sampradaya. We discussed that on the other thread where you blasted me and then left. We have to first educate ourselves instead of accepting and rejecting without proper knowledge.

We have to see these groups and see where they are mentioned in the sastra. If they are not mentioned in sastra then they are not bonafide.

So if we are not educated then who's fault is it? Just because he gives charity doesnt make one a guru, charity can be given in ignorance as well. A guru is not someone who pleases us by helping us justify our ignorant way of life. A Guru is someone as Gopal stated coming from a bonafide sampradaya mentioned in the sastras through guru, sadhu and sastra.
